WATER SUPPLY, SEWERAGE, AND INDUSTRIAL WASTES, INC.

Charles L. Porter Memorial Scholarship

    On March 20, 1990 the Board of Directors voted to name the annual scholarships awarded by the Louisiana Conference "The Charles L. Porter Memorial Scholarship" to honor the memory of the late Charles L. "Prade" Porter. The scholarships are in the amount or $750.00 each.

ELIGIBILITY:

    The applicant must be the son or daughter of a member of the Louisiana Conference on Water Supply, Sewerage, and Industrial Wastes, Inc. Said member must reside in the State of Louisiana.

 APPLICATION:

1. Shall be on the form (s) provided.
2. Not to be submitted before April 1st of the year to be considered.
3. Must be received by the Executive Secretary before June 25th of the year to be considered.

SELECTION:

1.  Will be made by the Scholarship Selection Committee of the Louisiana Conference on Water      Supply, Sewerage, and Industrial Wastes, Inc.
2. Consideration will be given to the applicants' educational, athletic, and extra-curricular achievements, as well as to that of the parent (s) activities in the water/wastewater industry.
3. Will be made by August 1st of each year, with the successful applicant (s) to be notified by August 15th.

 RESTRICTIONS:

Scholarship to be used for assistance in attending a college or university within nine (9) months from the date of the award.

Scholarship Funds must be used to attend a college or university Within the State of Louisiana.

Each applicant will be eligible for a maximum of three (3) awards:

A.    One for obtaining a Bachelors Degree;

B.     One for obtaining a Masters Degree;

C.    One for obtaining a Doctoral Degree.

Membership Qualifications require the PARENT OF THE APPLICANT to have been a member of the Louisiana Conference for any THREE (3) of the immediate past FIVE (5) years prior to April  of the1st year being considered. Parent must be a current member of the Louisiana Conference at the time the application is submitted.
